TRP Sealing Systems invests in camera robot technology to elevate quality and advance Industry 4.0

Leading gasket and seal manufacturer TRP Sealing Systems has completed a major investment in automated camera-robot inspection technology.

The investment is a significant step forward in its Industry 4.0 strategy and raises the quality assurance standards across its high-volume product lines.

At the heart of the upgrade is a fully automated camera system designed to deliver 100 per cent inspection of critical sealing components.

Previously, inspection relied on manual visual checks supported by conventional leak testing.

The new camera robot replaces subjective human judgement with consistent, high-accuracy analysis.

As each gasket moves through production, the system performs a leak test and then deploys a high-resolution overhead camera to check the position and continuity of the rubber sealing, and ensure it is free from defects.

Barry Galpin, TRP Sealing System commercial manager, said: “Traditionally, operators would visually inspect each part, but human inspection has its limits.

“Our customers demand zero defects, and this technology allows us to deliver exactly that.

“The robot doesn’t get tired, it doesn’t lose concentration, and it applies the same standard to every single part.

“It gives our customers confidence that every gasket we produce performs exactly as it should.”

TRP will also be rolling out similar camera-robot technology across other product lines and manufacturing locations.

Mr Galpin added. “It’s about smarter manufacturing, product consistency, and giving our customers the assurance that we’re building quality into every stage of the process.”
