We are seeking a Business Development/Salesperson to work within the TRP Sealing Systems Ltd business based in Hereford, UK. The Business Development/Salesperson would be working within the Commercial department in a customer facing role. In this role you will work in a fast paced environment at the forefront of the latest developments focused within the Rubber Industry.
Job Profile: The successful candidate will work with the Commercial Manager to convert strategic goals into short and medium term business opportunities. They will work on new business leads through client management, sales ability to generate, manage and deliver new business opportunities. Given the strategic targets of the business the candidate will need to work closely with customers to generate new opportunities. Within the role it is expected that the person will represent the organisation to the highest standards, produce project progress reports as requested, attend and contribute to meetings as required and travel to customers as and when needed. The role is predominantly based within the UK to allow the development of UK based customers.

SENIOR RUBBER TECHNOLOGIST, HEREFORD AND WORCESTERSHIRE, CIRCA £45,000 - £58,000
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Assist the production improvement and efficiency initiatives
Compound developments to meet customer and international standards, as required
Compound developments for specific customer requirements
Assist customer base with applications advice and failure analysis
Support the commercial function in securing new business / new product developments.
The candidate need to possess the following:
Degree level qualification in polymer technology, or a materials or chemistry equivalent
A robust personality with a number of years of relevant experience in an industrial environment.
Good laboratory skills and familiarity with analytical equipment including a TGA and FTIR.
An understanding of all relevant ISO test methods is a given, however the candidate will need to be beyond just a laboratory experience.
Able to lead projects from conception to a positive outcome and an ability to work autonomously. Examples of the types of improvement projects the client would like a successful candidate to manage would be the development of higher temperature resistant EPDMs, a review of incoming materials and product testing regimes generally and the refinement and improve of the internal compounding facility.
At least 5yrs experience in designing materials, applications advice and failure analysis within the rubber industry. Specific experience in the plate heat exchanger sector would be a benefit.
A good understanding of problem solving techniques.
An ability to communicate with internal and external customers. Dealing with external projects and material / product developments.
Possess or develop quickly a capability to make application recommendations to the customer base as regards materials. Advise the correct materials to be used in a variety of applications.
Be used to providing technical support to the manufacturing operation.
